Import existing customer point balances

Bring your customers’ existing point balances over when you move to Charm, so nobody loses what they earned on your old platform. Use this template flow when you’re building your own file — moving from Rivo, Ellity, or Okendo? The automatic platform migration skips the spreadsheet work entirely.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Data migration and click Import from a CSV template.
  2. Under Import opening balances, click Download CSV (or Copy for Sheets) and fill in one row per customer. Only email (or shopify_customer_id) and points_balance are required — the other columns enrich the record: lifetime_points_earned, points_redeemed, current_tier, birthday, enrolled_at, excluded_from_program, joined, pending_points, and notes.
  3. Set How to handle balances — Replace customer balance with imported balance, Add imported balance to current balance, or Skip customers already in Charm — then click Choose CSV, select your file (.csv or .xlsx both work), and click Import customer balances.

The result appears under Recent imports with imported, skipped, and failed row counts. This template import runs immediately, so keep the page open until it finishes.
