Rename a tier or change its icon

Customize how a VIP tier looks to customers by renaming it or swapping its icon.

Steps

1. Go to Program → VIP tiers. Your tiers are listed under Configure tier levels.
2. Click the pencil next to the tier’s name, change the Tier name in Edit tier name, and click Done. The same dialog sets the tier’s Icon.
3. To rename the internal Handle, open the tier’s Tier actions menu and choose Edit handle.
4. Set the Icon style for all tiers: a built-in icon set, Custom icons (choose an image for each tier with Choose file in its Edit tier name dialog), or No icons. Then Save.

Caution

The Handle is an internal automation handle used by Shopify Flow, integrations, and customer tags — it is not shown to customers. Changing it can break existing workflows and tags that reference the old handle, so only rename it if you know what depends on it.

Translate tier names

If your store sells in more than one language, a Languages card on the page switches the language you’re editing. Choose a language, open Edit tier name and type the tier’s name in that language. Leave it empty to use your default name.

Customers see the name in their own language in the floating widget, on the loyalty landing page, in the Loyalty Hub, at POS, and in the New tier achieved and Approaching next tier emails:

• A customer reading your store’s default language always sees the name you gave the tier, even if you also added an English translation.
• A customer reading a language you haven’t translated sees the English translation if there is one, otherwise your default name.

Shopify Flow triggers and the Charm API always carry the default name.
