Add, change or remove a tier on a live program

You can reshape your VIP tiers at any time, even while members are already in them. When you save, Charm re-checks every member against the new ladder and moves whoever no longer sits in the right tier.

  1. Go to Program → VIP tiers.
  2. To add a tier, click Add tier and set its bar. To change a bar, edit the tier’s criteria. To remove a tier, open its Tier actions menu and choose Remove tier.
  3. Click Save.
  • A new tier or a lower bar: members who now qualify move up. It counts as reaching the tier: they get its celebration, the tier email and its one-time gifts.
  • A higher bar: members who no longer qualify move down, after your grace period if you set one. Nothing is granted.
  • A removed tier: its members move quietly to the tier below it. They don’t get a “you reached a tier” email or gifts for a tier they didn’t climb into, and the tier shows no “achieved on” date. A member who by then qualifies for a higher tier, for example because they earned enough points since, is promoted as usual, gifts included.

On a large program the re-check runs in the background and can take a while. If it’s interrupted, for example by an update on our side, it carries on where it stopped, so every member is reached. Members whose place doesn’t change aren’t touched.

  • Removing a tier can’t be undone from Change history. If you add it again later, it’s a new tier: members who reach it get its email and gifts again.
  • Rules that set values per tier (different points or reward costs per tier) keep working, but their part for the removed tier no longer applies to anyone. See per-tier rule values.
  • Bonus campaigns aimed at the tier stop matching its former members.
