Combine reward codes with other product discounts (Plus)
By default Shopify allows only one product discount per line item, so a Charm product reward and one of your own product promotions can’t both land on the same product. On Shopify Plus, Charm can combine them — the reward code and your other product discount apply together on the same item.
Steps
- Go to Settings → Points program → Reward discount codes.
- Make sure the Reward discount type stays Product discount — same-line combining needs product discounts to be allowed.
- Turn on Combine with other product discounts on the same item.
- In Discount tags to combine with, enter the tags of your other product discounts, comma-separated (for example
bundle, clearance). - Save.
Both sides have to opt in
Combining is deliberately mutual, so nothing stacks by accident:
- On your other discounts, add the tags you listed above and allow Charm’s own discount tags (Charm shows the exact tags to add in the help text under the setting).
- Charm applies the change to newly issued product reward codes and tier benefits — existing codes already in customers’ hands keep the rules they were minted with.
If you leave the tag list empty, nothing can combine — at least one shared tag is required on both sides.
