Show membership plans on your storefront

Charm turns each enabled paid membership that has a linked product into a plan card, and shows the same cards in the floating widget, the Loyalty Hub and on your landing page. Every visitor sees them, whether they’re signed in or not, and every line is worked out once so all three places show the same figures. Up to four plans are shown, in the order of your list under Program → Paid memberships.

  • The plan’s name and icon, with a Best value badge on the plan you highlight, or Current plan on the plan the visitor already holds.
  • The price for its billing period, for example “$99 a year”. A plan billed over several months adds the monthly equivalent, for example “That’s $8.25 a month”.
  • The billing cadence and the perks, with the points multiplier first.
  • When the plan pays for itself, for example “Pays for itself from $125 in orders a month”. See the payoff line.
  • A button to the plan, and the small print: “Cancel anytime.” for an auto-renewing plan, “One-time payment. Does not renew.” for a one-time plan.

A member’s own plan shows their status and renewal or end date instead of the cadence. A customer whose membership ended in the last 90 days sees when it ended, and the button on that plan reads Rejoin.

  1. Go to Program → Paid memberships and open the plan.
  2. Under Member benefits, turn on Highlight as best value. The switch appears once you have two or more memberships.
  3. Click Save.

Only one plan can carry the badge: turning it on for one plan turns it off for the others. Besides the badge, the highlighted plan is framed in your accent colour on the landing page, is the plan the widget opens on, and gets the main button in the Loyalty Hub. The landing page frame only shows while the visitor doesn’t hold a plan, so a member’s own plan stays the one that stands out.

The payoff line tells shoppers how much they need to spend each month for the plan’s savings to cover its fee. Charm divides the monthly fee by the plan’s order-wide Percentage discount plus its Store credit cashback rate, and rounds up to a whole amount so the figure never understates the spend. A line under it says what the figure is based on and adds the points multiplier, for example “Plus 2× points on top.”

Only those two perks count. Free shipping, amount discounts, product and collection discounts, monthly and birthday store credit, and the points multiplier are left out of the figure. The line is also left out whenever it can’t be stated accurately:

  • the plan has no order-wide percentage discount and no cashback,
  • the discount needs a minimum order, or the cashback has a maximum credit per order,
  • the plan is billed by the day or the week,
  • the plan’s price is in a different currency from your store’s.

To hide the line for a plan, open it under Program → Paid memberships and turn off Show when the plan pays for itself (on by default), then Save. The line, and the plan’s cell in the comparison table’s payoff row, disappear from the widget, the Loyalty Hub and the landing page.

  1. Set up your loyalty landing page if you haven’t yet.
  2. In the theme editor, open the page and click Add block, then pick Landing: Memberships. The block also works on the home page.
  3. Choose a Layout: Plan cards, or Comparison table with one column per plan and one row per perk.
  4. For the table, Show a “Without membership” column (table) (on by default) adds a column reading “Standard rate” for points and “Not included” for the other perks.
  5. Show when a plan pays for itself (on by default) shows the payoff lines across the whole block. A plan’s own Show when the plan pays for itself switch still applies.
  6. Set Columns (mobile) to 1 or 2, then Save the theme.

The block stays hidden while no enabled membership has a linked product. Edit its Memberships heading and Memberships subtitle per language under Visibility → Landing page → Translations & text, in the Memberships group; the preview there shows the plan cards as shoppers will see them. If you run VIP tiers, the subtitle adds a sentence saying that memberships work alongside levels and the higher points rate applies.

For a visitor who holds a plan, that plan shows Current plan and a Manage membership button that opens their account.

The Hub shows a Membership section directly under the customer’s balance summary.

  • Not a member: the plan cards, side by side, or one wide card if you sell a single plan. The small print sits once under the cards.
  • Member: a Your membership card with the plan, a status badge (Active, Grace period, or Ends and a date after the member cancelled the renewal), the renewal or end date, when they became a member, and their perks. In the grace period it says until when the perks stay active. Its buttons are Cancel renewal on an auto-renewing plan, Renew now on a one-time plan in its last 30 days (it opens the product page, and buying again extends the membership), and Other plans, which is where members can switch plans.

The home view has a Membership row. A shopper who isn’t a member reads your lowest monthly price and a headline perk, usually the strongest discount, for example “From $8.25 a month · 20% off”. A member reads their plan and its status, and a former member reads when their membership ended.

Opening the row shows the plans. With two or three plans, one card shows at a time behind a switcher with each plan’s name, starting on the best-value plan. With one or four plans, the cards are stacked. Buy now adds the plan to the cart, with its subscription attached for an auto-renewing plan, and takes the shopper to the cart; View plan opens the product page. A member sees their own card first with Manage membership, which opens the Loyalty Hub, and the other plans behind Other plans.
