Take over reward codes from your previous loyalty app

Discount codes your customers earned in a previous loyalty app but never redeemed still live in Shopify — and they stay redeemable at checkout even after that app is gone. Charm finds them right in your store (no export file needed) and lets you decide what happens to them.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Data migration and find the Reward codes from your previous app card.
  2. If the old app issued codes with a shared start, enter it in Code prefix (e.g. LL-); leave it empty to scan all unused single-use codes. Click Scan discount codes — the scan skips codes minted by Charm, already-used codes, and multi-code merchant promotions.
  3. Review the Scan results: how many unused codes were found, how many are Linked to a customer, the fixed-amount value total, and the split between fixed-amount, percentage, and free-shipping codes.
  4. Under What should happen to them?, pick a policy and click Apply to found codes:
    • Convert to points — each fixed-amount code is deactivated and its customer gets points of matching value instead, using the Conversion rate you set (Charm suggests one from your own reward pricing). Percentage and free-shipping codes are left untouched.
    • Keep and show in Charm — codes stay valid and each customer sees theirs in the loyalty program among their rewards; once redeemed, it’s marked as used automatically.
    • Let them run out — codes stay valid at checkout but aren’t shown anywhere in Charm.
    • Deactivate without compensation — every found code is deactivated with nothing in return, including codes with no customer link.

Batches run in the background and usually finish within a minute; the card shows the last run’s done, skipped, and failed counts. Codes handled by an earlier run are tracked (the Handled previously badge) and never processed twice. If a run lands wrong, click Undo last run.
