Delay the referrer's reward to verify the referred order

Add a waiting period before a referrer’s reward is issued, giving you time to catch refunds or fraudulent referrals before you pay out.

Steps

Section titled “Steps”
  1. Go to Program → Referral program.
  2. On the Referrer reward card, turn on Hold the reward before issuing. It starts at 30 days.
  3. Set Number of days to hold, from 1 to 90.
  4. Click Save.

How the hold works

The hold covers the whole referrer reward, whatever you give: points stay pending until the hold ends, and a discount code or free product is only created once it has passed. If the referred order is refunded or cancelled during the wait, the referrer’s reward is never issued.

The hold only applies to the referrer. The referred friend’s reward is not held.
